Trade Unions and the Environment Course
The next course in the region takes place in Exeter in February – running on 3 Tuesdays from 16th February – places are now available.

The South West TUC, in conjunction with Severn Wye Energy Trust, has produced a series of seven leaflets around home energy use, which union reps could use to:

Two free half-day events aimed at theatre & performance venue staff, casual, part-time or freelance technicians in the entertainment industry and mangers & directors of small venues and arts centres.

Workforce Partnerships for Resource Efficiency (Envirowise)
A guide from Envirowise to help anyone in the workforce take simple, no-cost and low-cost measures at work to improve resource efficiency. The guide recognises the potential for trade union involvement and includes information on the benefits of resource efficiency, gaining support and overcoming barriers, building partnerships and taking step by step actions – as well as including links to many other useful Envirowise resources.

Climate Solidarity Project
Climate Solidarity is a trade union project working for a fair and sustainable society and is offering trade union members free training on how to set up a Climate Solidarity Action Group.
These are for people who are interested in setting up a climate solidarity action group, to work with colleagues on cutting personal emissions, and then using that learning as a springboard to workplace actions.

Green ICT
Connecting Bristol is leading Bristol’s innovative work on Green ICT . With funding from the Carbon Trust, Connecting Bristol undertook an innovative study to calculate the carbon footprint of business use of ICT in the city and to develop a Green ICT solutions database.
This study is the first of its kind to provide a baseline for a city to measure progress in reducing ICT-related carbon emissions, and provides a template for other cities who wish to follow Bristol’s lead. Case studies, action planning, carbon calculators and more at http://www.greenaddict.eu/
